If you want your wedding to be a huge success, get outstanding entertainment. This doesn’t mean that you need to get midgets and clowns to pep up your ceremony. After all, you’re getting married, not investing in a circus. Getting first-rate entertainment will cause your wedding to be discussed for all time to come. We tend to forget the food we eat and the clothes we wear, but seldom do we forget something that’s really entertained us.

Decide what kind of entertainment you want to have. Do you want a disk jockey (DJ)? Is it necessary to engage a Master of Ceremonies (MC)? Will the DJ also double up as the MC? Getting an MC is a great idea. The MC should be able to effortlessly manage the entire flow of the reception. Ideally, an MC should be suave, polished and humorous. He should be impeccably dressed and exude an aura of confidence and vitality. Moreover, the MC must have the capacity to effectively manage and oversee any minor crisis that may occur. Always get an MC who has a cheerful disposition and knows his stuff. It’s better to go with someone who’s rather experienced as compared to a rank newcomer even though he may be less expensive. Do give due importance to selecting an appropriate MC because he is a very important player in the overall scheme of things. Don’t forget, he is the one responsible for breaking the ice and kick-starting your wedding party.  

No matter what kind of entertainers you choose, avoid cramming your wedding reception with too much of entertainment. This will only leave your guests feeling confused and disoriented. Make sure that your DJ or MC is not rude or overbearing. The MC must avoid making unflattering comments about the guests even if it is in jest. If a particular guest is offended, he may nurse a grudge against the couple for years to come. Your wedding will certainly be remembered but not in the way you want it.
